Though they are powerful, they are license-free which means you do not have to get approved by the FCC to use these devices so you can use them right out of the box! The DLR1060 has a very clean and sleek design which makes it both discrete and powerful. It packs great range and battery life into a versatile black frame which is easy to use. The DLR1060 offers up to 6 channels of communication as opposed to the two channels of the DLR1020. These channels are effectively memory banks which you can use to align your walkie talkies, and are very intuitive and easy to use and require no programming. The DLR1060 has a durable design and is water resistant, though not completely waterproof.

The Motorola DLR1060 brings 1 watt of power to the table and has a very strong range of up to 300,000 square feet, which is around 20 standard floors in a building. This is actually quite good relative to the price of the device and guarantees that you will be able to reach your coworkers easily and clearly even in a large building. We were impressed by this multi-level capacity, as the digital transmission does especially well inside building and through other obstacles. That said, these would obviously not be the right choice for a hiking trip or other outdoor activities, as they are designed for business application and won’t have fantastic super long range ability.
